Sugamo is located in the center of Tokyo.
There are 2 temples and a shopping street (called Jizo-dori).
Jizo-dori is known as "Harajuku for the older generation".
It has almost 200 shops selling anything from
traditional Japanese snacks such as sembei and
mochi, to clothing and fine Japanese green teas.
Recommended if you’re interested in a more
laid back and "local" Tokyo experience,
not overcrowded with tourists.
